At Michael & Emily Toronto, we strive to keep our customers completely satisfied. However, we understand that sometimes you may wish to return a product. Below, we clearly explain our return policy. We are happy to assist you — if in doubt, please contact us first at info@michaelemilytoronto.com.


1. How We Operate

Michael & Emily Toronto follows a direct-from-supplier model. To reduce waste and minimize our carbon footprint, we do not hold large stock in-house. Items not in stock are shipped directly from our supplier (located in China). This means that returns must also be sent to the return address of our supplier in China.


2. Return Window and Registration

  • You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your item by contacting us at info@michaelemilytoronto.com.

  • Returns can only be requested after you have physically received the item.

  • Always include your order number and a valid reason for the return in your request.

  • Upon approval, we will provide you with the return address of our supplier.


3. Conditions for Returns

  • A valid reason for the return is always required.

  • Items must be unused, unwashed, undamaged, and in their original condition, with all labels and tags still attached.

  • Fitting is allowed; wearing is not.

  • Sale items cannot be returned without a valid reason.

  • Ordering multiple sizes with the intent to return some is not permitted.

  • Certain items are excluded for hygiene reasons (such as underwear, swimwear, and jewelry), unless unopened and unused.


4. Return Costs and Process

  • Return shipping costs are fully the responsibility of the customer, including any international shipping and customs fees.

  • Items must be returned to the supplier’s return address in China.

  • The customer is responsible for shipping, costs, and tracking of the return.

  • We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping method; without proof of shipment, we cannot process the return.


5. Customer-Friendly Solutions

International returns can be expensive and time-consuming. We are happy to explore alternative solutions (e.g., partial refunds or discounts), which we agree on via email. Always contact us first at info@michaelemilytoronto.com before returning anything.


6. Defective, Incorrect, or Damaged Items

If there is an issue with your order — such as the size, fit, or quality — please email us within 14 days of receipt with clear photos and a detailed description of the problem.

  • Without photos and description, we cannot process your complaint, and there will be no entitlement to a return or refund.

  • With the provided information, we will work to find a suitable solution as quickly as possible.


7. Refunds

  • Refunds are issued only after the item has been received and approved at the supplier’s return address in China.

  • Once approved, we will refund the purchase price within 14 days via the original payment method.

  • Original shipping costs are not refundable.


8. Cancellations

  • Orders cannot be canceled once placed and processed.

  • No refund or chargeback may be initiated before the item is actually received.

  • If you have a question or issue with your order, contact us first at info@michaelemilytoronto.com instead of initiating a chargeback or refund immediately.


9. Liability

  • We are not responsible for lost packages if tracking shows that the item was delivered to the address provided by the customer.

  • Incorrectly provided addresses are the customer’s responsibility.

  • Any address errors must be reported within 24 hours of placing the order via info@michaelemilytoronto.com.
